Central African Gold (CAG) was established in London in 2003 to identify, acquire and develop projects in the natural resource sector, with particular emphasis on gold projects in Africa. The company was quoted in March 2004 on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) to raise funds for strategic growth and development.

In early 2006, CAG engaged an experienced management and operational team, headed up by CEO Greg Hunter, to provide the technical expertise needed to realise its growth strategy. The team has considerable experience in all areas of gold exploration and production. Key strengths include mineral exploration expertise and technology (remote sensing, geographical information systems (GIS), geo-spatial modeling and structural geology), allowing CAG to quickly and accurately assess new mineral discoveries and to add value to its existing portfolio.

CAG is currently progressing prospective exploration properties in Mali and Botswana and managing and developing gold-producing assets in Ghana and Zimbabwe which are providing immediate production and revenue generation. Two ordinary share placings in April and December 2006 have enabled us to pursue our growth strategy through a combination of producing-asset acquisitions and greenfield and brownfield exploration properties, with an initial target of 200,000 ounces of annualised low-cost gold production and 7.5 million ounces of resource by end 2008. The CAG team is experienced at both a managerial and operational level. Areas of expertise cover gold exploration and production, project development, mining engineering, mineral exploration, finance and fundraising and technology. A demonstrable track record of working and developing projects under difficult economic and political conditions will facilitate CAG's rise to rapidly becoming one of the leading mid-tier gold mining companies in Africa.
