Gathering momentum

Mining sand can be more difficult than mining rock – this is certainly the case that we have found at Bibiani. As recently announced (14 November 2007), the existing tailings operation has not met our expectations, while the build-up to production at the underground operation is gathering good momentum

I feel like one of these journos who reports from the front line — I am writing this note from our modest boardroom at Bibiani gold mine in Ghana, to all intents and purposes the area in CAG’s life where most of the action is, and certainly the kind of action which has the potential to make our modest company a great company!

The story of Medinandi

It has been another busy month at CAG, with the recent AGM giving us a chance to re-establish connections with both existing and potential shareholders. In my first blog I drew attention to the excellent progress being made in Mali by our exploration team, and this was emphasized by our press release of 29 May which indicated an initial resource estimate for Medinandi of over 500,000 ounces of gold. On this vein, I have asked our Principal Generative Geologist, Reniet Harbidge, to share some of her experiences at Medinandi in Mali-West. Over to you Reniet…

CAG going forward

It is just over a year ago now since the new management team was brought into CAG, and a very, very busy one it has been. We have enjoyed excellent support from our shareholders – old and new – and have interacted with you on a regular basis.

We will continue to be in contact with shareholders going forward. I am very conscious though that, now that we are at a stage of consolidating our assets and projects and not as focused on fund-raising, we will probably not be in direct contact as frequently as we have during the past year. While I welcome the calls and emails that we receive from shareholders, we have decided to create another forum – Greg’s blog – for the want of a better name.
