Strategy

The CAG operational and exploration strategy dovetails with the overall growth projections of the company. As such it is divided into four components:

  • geological remodeling of existing orebodies;
  • minesite and brownfield exploration to complete feasibility studies and augment/sustain production (surface and underground);
  • project exploration related to ongoing development and evaluation up the value chain, and
  • greenfield projects and targets generated from remote sensing and GIS studies.

The objective of CAG's growth strategy is to become a leading mid-tier gold producer in Africa. The company is actively pursuing appropriate acquisition opportunities as well as certain development projects from its own properties.

The resource triangle

The resource triangle concept is designed to combine scientific methods with financial risk reward parameters in undertaking exploration. It reflects an exploration company committed to finding ore deposits and converting them to mines, but also shows that CAG is not averse to making acquisitions.
